"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things but their inner significance." Aristotle
Angela has been studying and creating art around the world for over 40 years. While her primary inspiration comes from the rich culture and lush beauty of the Hawaiian Islands, Angela also draws influence from her travels and studies through France, Italy, Mexico, Tahiti and Fiji.
In 2002, Angela and her husband Kim helped pioneer Hanapepe Town as the Kauai "art destination" town. They purchased an old 1920's laundry, restored it, and transformed it into a fine art gallery.
Her paintings have been in many solo exhibits, juried group exhibits, and are in private collections worldwide. Her paintings have been published in Spirit of Hula, by Leilani Petranek; "Hawaii Magazine," "Hana Hou," and "Essential Kauai." They have also been featured in the "Honolulu Advertiser," and "The Garden Isle" newspapers.
Angela's Island Art Gallery in Old Hanapepe Town has been voted "Best Gallery" by Hawaii Magazine.
Angela's paintings have also been acquired not only for private homes, medical clinics, and offices, but as integral art for developments, and hotels, such as The Cottages at Kukui'ula, The Villas at Kukui'ula, and the deluxe rooms and suites at the Marriott Waiohai.
